>> RULES << |
- GENERAL -
1. don’t be a dick. we have exactly zero tolerance for rudeness and zero time to waste arguing with members on a role play site. if you’re causing problems, being argumentative, inappropriate, or disrespectful to members, you’ll be removed and banned from the forum.
2. don’t get the site taken down. proboards has terms and conditions that we have absolutely no control over. its your responsibility to follow them. we know there may be murder and sex and all that fun stuff. keep it pg-13 or fade to black and take it to private messages.
- EXPECTATIONS -
1. please read the rules and the plot. make sure you know what's going on before you dive into a character. check out all relevant forms-- and feel free to ask any questions in our discord.
2. you must register an account for each character you make. do not register an out of character account unless you are staff. account names should be your characters first and last name in all capital letters.
3. there are no limits on how many characters you make, but please only make as many characters as you are able to keep active.
4. by active, we mean at least one in character post per week per character. we’ll be understanding for characters that are more difficult to plot with/confined to specific places, but if you’re playing a major canon and participating in multiple threads we expect you to be reasonably active. there is no word count here so it doesn't have to be long!
5. communicate with your role play partners. the nature of this site makes it very easy to 'god-mod' given most characters have some sort of superhuman ability. if you're going to possess, manipulate, harm, kill, or otherwise permanently effect another player's character, make sure this is something that you have discussed with that player before-hand.
6. speaking of god-modding, be careful not to do it. you can have your character shoot fire out at someone as much as you want but it is not up to you whether the other character dodges the attack or not (of course, this is different if you have discussed with your role-play partner). that being said, nobody can dodge everything. be realistic.
- CANON CHARACTERS -
1. you're basically welcome to play anyone who has ever appeared in the x-men movies, tv shows, or comics, regardless of whether or not they were present in the 'current' timeline. to best align with our goals on the site though, please keep in mind that we may ask you to tone down certain abilities, or omit particularly otherworldly plots. characters from other mcu movies or comic teams are not allowed.
2. because of the continuity errors in the x-men movies as well as different versions of characters existing throughout the comics, it will be up to the writer at what point in their timeline they choose to portray their character, as well as what group their character will fall under if they canonly fit into more than one allegiance.
3. if you’re writing a canon character who has close relations with someone already in play on the site, please make sure to look over their bio so you do not conflict anything that has been established to in the site's canon. if you are making an original character who has any type of connection to a canon you must get permission from both the person writing the canon and an admin (or just the admins, if the character is not currently in play).
- ORIGINAL CHARACTERS -
1. original characters are absolutely welcome here. they can be part of any of the existing groups, and have any kinds of mutations/powers, as long as they are following the limits that exist in the universe. please do not make an 'all powerful' character.
2. limits on certain character types may be imposed later if necessary but for now, just about anything goes.
