...so they receive the same schooling i'm sure you do... "would i be with..." he stopped himself, unsure of what to say. he imagined that most mutants were white... because most people seemed to be white. so there was a small part of him that was concerned that he wouldn't get the same education as other students. of course, this wouldn't have been new, but it mattered more when it came to learning about his own body. "do you think you could figure out how i'm doing things? you think i could control it?"

”Would I be with..” Sometimes, it was very helpful being able to read minds. ”Our school is open to everyone.” Charles assured. ”There are people with unique abilities all around the world, and we have many students who come from different backgrounds.” Levi would still be a part of a minority, but he wouldn’t be the first or only one. ”Do you think you could figure out how I’m doing things?” ”I’m almost certain of it.” So far, their track record for helping mutants understand their capabilities was.. actually.. perfect. They hadn’t all mastered their abilities and they hadn’t all agreed on a philosophical point how to use them.. but there hadn’t been a student yet who they completely couldn’t figure out. ”It may take some time, so you shouldn’t get discouraged. Know that this will happen at your pace. You’re welcome to stay with us as long as you need, or you can return home and come by when you're available for sessions.” Basically whatever he needed to do to feel comfortable, they would be able to work with.

our school is open to everyone. levi grinned at that, nodding. he thought it was actually pretty cool... to be part of a program that was so integrated. he was eager to learn more when charles explained that things could go... basically exactly how levi wanted them to. "i could live here... like a university?" he asked. "how much does it cost? will you be my teacher?" it was all so overwhelming.
"did you go here when you were a kid?" he asked, wondering how charles had figured out his own abilities.

”Yes,” Charles confirmed, when Levi asked if he could live there. ”There’s no cost. I teach most subjects, but there are a few other teachers as well.” Ideally one day they would operate like a real school, but there were only so many mutants who were also certified to teach or had expertise in relevant fields, at least that Charles had managed to connect with so far.
He grinned slightly when Levi asked if he went there as a child. ”No, Sean and I actually just started the school a few years ago. We had to figure quite a lot out by ourselves. I wish there had been something like this while I was grown up, but I don’t think my parents would have been as supportive as your mother was.” It was one of many reasons why using their home was so satisfying.
