Charles shouldn’t have been surprised that after inviting Erik back into his life (well, that was a slightly generous way to describe his old friend breaking into his bedroom widow), trouble only seemed to follow. They had managed to get Cerebro working in the mansion and Charles kept to his word, searching for any large groups of mutants who seemed to be in distress. It didn’t take long for him to find the mining town of Odd, West Virginia. Though it didn’t seem to have any ties to the government, as Erik initially expected it would, they both agreed that what was going on there wasn’t okay, and that something had to be done.
And that was what began the grudging partnership between Erik’s brotherhood and his own students. The two had agreed on a time and place to meet and while Charles was expecting Erik would not come on this particular venture alone, he was not quite prepared to see Raven standing in the airport parking lot. It had been nearly five years since he had seen the woman he had always considered his sister, and whatever her current form of appearance, Charles had always been able to pick her out in a crowd. Wanting the two of them to have a chance to clear the air before the fighting started, and without the outside influence of the other members of their group, he approached her, nodding politely. ”Raven, it’s… good to see you well.” And despite the awkwardness, he meant it.

Raven didn't think that she would be working with the X-men again, after everything that had happened in the past, she never thought she be around the X-men again after she began working with the Brotherhood. Eric had sent her to the airport and as she had arrived to her destination then her eyes met with someone with Charles Xavier.
Raven was not prepared to see Charles, it had been five years since their eyes had met, she took a moment to take in the fact that she had considered a brother for years.
Off course Raven was reluctantly in disguise but that didn't mean Charles wouldn't be able to find her, Charles was very good at that.
Still even Raven could admit there was tension in the air as the two looked at each other.
Raven nodded a bit as she moved her shaped shifted blonde hair.
“Yes good to see you as well Charles.” Raven replied strongly

Charles wasn't sure why he thought this wouldn’t be awkward. At least with Erik, they had been able to skip all the formal pleasantries and get right down to business. Now, he and Raven had time to spare, and he wasn’t quite sure what he wanted to say. It was silly, Raven used to be the person he told everything to. Now she was a stranger.
”How have things been.. with Erik?” he asked, figuring she could interpret that question however she liked. He cared, of course he did. He still saw Raven as his sister, regardless of the different paths the two of them had taken. He had been worried that Erik would use her, use for her talents, and that she might wind up hurt. But it appeared his concerned had been misplaced.
