Laurie was a shy young woman who was still getting used to the X-men and interacting with people her own age, she felt awkward around them as she was scared she might accidentally let out her pheromones and influence there emotions.
She looked to a group of girls as they chatted away, she saw a group of boy, she saw them playing a game but she avoided contact with them, she feared getting close to boys most of all.
