POWERS & ABILITIES

Wings: Angel possesses wings that protrude from his back. He can fly by means of his natural wings, which span 16 feet from wingtip to wingtip. Fully feathered like a bird's, the wings have a very flexible skeletal structure, enabling him to press them to the back of his torso and legs with only the slightest bulge visible under his clothing. Angel flies by flapping his wings, as a bird does. His wings are what he has the best control over and he loves flying, however he swears they have a mind of their own and once or twice acted on their own to save Warren.

Aerial Adaptation: Angel's entire anatomy is naturally adapted to flying. His bones are hollow like a bird’s, making him weigh far less than usual for a man of his build. His body is virtually devoid of fat and possesses greater proportionate muscle mass than an ordinary human does. His eyes are specially adapted to withstand high-speed winds which would hurt the average human eye. He possesses a special membrane in his respiratory system enabling him to extract oxygen from the air at high velocities or altitudes.

Enhanced Human Strength: Due to his body's natural mutation, Warren possesses a but more physical strength than an ordinary human equal to him in body weight and can lift about 300lbs with some strain. Carrying heavy objects does slow down his flying speeds.

Enhanced Stamina: Angel's musculature produces less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of an ordinary human. He can physically exert himself at peak capacity for one hour before the buildup of fatigue toxins in his blood begins to impair him. His physical stamina while in flight is considerably larger, Angel can fly non-stop under his own power for a maximum of approximately 4 hours. Contrary to some reports, he couldn't make a transatlantic flight solely on his own power. During his one attempt to do so, he hitched a ride on an airplane for part of the way.

Enhanced Durability: The tissues of Angel's body are somewhat harder and more durable than that of an ordinary human, though he is far from invulnerable. While he can be injured in ways comparable to an ordinary human, his body is structured to withstand the friction caused by flying at high speeds. He can also withstand impact forces that would severely injure or kill an ordinary human with only medium to moderate discomfort.

Regenerative Healing Factor: Angel possesses a healing factor that enables him to repair damaged tissue at a bit faster speed and efficiency than an ordinary human. He can completely recover from non-fatal injuries such as slash and punctures within 10 to 12 hours and injuries as severe as broken bones within seven days. This ability extends to being transferred by blood, thus he can heal others who come into contact with his blood, provided they have the same blood type.

BRIEF HISTORY

Warren Kenneth Worthington III is the mutant son of the wealthy Warren K. Worthington Jr. and his wife Kathryn, his father Warren Jr currently the head of Worthington Industries where they dabble in a bit of everything (Angel has no interest in it currently) from a yogurt line to a small aviation program (they had to rival Silicone valley after all!)

Warren was only six when a regular physical for a private school (big money donors the Worthington's are) a doctor noticed what were called masses growing near the boys shoulder blades, two years later the masses broke skin and Warren was growing little wings! To keep the secret they paid a lot to keep the physician quiet and the school to accept little Warren.

The wings grew just a little faster than Warren could age, the family paid and tried everything to conceal the wings while leaving Warren disgusted with himself for being so different. He hated the wings for a while and made himself the outcast at his school. Flying was what broke his hatred and when his Father saw how relaxed flying made Warren they purchased a great deal of land private only to them. They called it the Bird Ranch and Warren spent a great deal of time there. Natural curiosity and some research Warren gathered what he could about his 'gift'.

As Warren aged, at around 15 he saw the useful stuff he could do with his wings so when a fire broke out at his dorm the young teen donned a few items from the drama club something resembling a heavenly angel and rescued several people from the fire. They called him Avenging Angel and Warren suddenly feeling popular took on the mantle of his new title. However it drew attention of others, the first being Charles Xavier.

For his protection and safety professor Xavier talked Warren into attending his school where young teens just like him attend, he also revealed a little of what Warren had been into during the fire to his parents they wrote a check as a donation and Warren was packed up and shipped off. It has been almost a year since Warren has seen his parents but they send him grand allowances and even purchased home off campus that he will inherit after he becomes an adult.

For now he is just a rich kid with a big attitude, but Warren now going by just Angel has an immense sense of duty and morality.
